In case you haven't been paying attention to the world of Campsite Studios, Reeves and I entered a short film contest for the internet sensation
"Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along-Blog". To put its popularity into perspective, DHSAB immediately shot to the top of iTunes' video downloads, catching 2.2 million viewers in the first week. Its soundtrack made the top 40 list upon release, despite being a digital exclusive available only through iTunes.
That being said, our sail seems to have caught some of this current and our video is blowing up. Just today, I would not be surprised if its daily views eclipse 2,000! To put this into perspective, my blog has not yet seen 2,000 hits in 13.5 months. Over 4,000 people have seen
Baron Mind in less than one week.
This was mainly due to some phenomenal press from the keyboards at
Tilzy.tv. They listed our video amongst the top five submissions. Here is their review:
"If I was a designated agent for the ELE, “More punny names for evil alter egos!” would be my mantra. But even if that spawned a hell-storm of submissions with wickedly funny wordplay, Baron Mind would still be my favorite. The locale is also the prettiest of the bunch (shot mostly in New York City’s Central Park) and the Baron makes excellent use of fanboy photography. I’m also not entirely convinced this dude isn’t Toby Maguire."
full storyBecause of this post, other daily internet sites, such as
fark.com, have linked our video and the hits have increased exponentially. I have privately made promises to the dudes from Tilzy that I don't intend on keeping.
I never imagined this kind of exposure. It is all a little weird. One foot in front of the other...
In other news: I am going to get to work on some animations for Neil and Nicolette tonight. I should get this posted by tomorrow at the latest.
